The Top Five Sodoku Websites
Sudoku is an abbreviation of the Japanese phrase “Suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru”, which means “the digits must remain single”. Sudoku was designed by Howard Garnes, a 74-year old architect and freelance puzzle maker, and was first published in 1979 in a New York puzzle magazine, Dell Pencil Puzzles and Word Games. It was first entitled as Number Place.
Japanese paper Monthly Nikolist first printed Number Place on April 1984 as “Suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru”, as named by Kaji Maki, the president of the Nikoli company. To this day, Nikoli holds the copyright to the name Sudoku. Other publications use other names for Sudoku.
Sudoku is played on a 9X9 grid, with 3×3 subgrids referred to as regions, boxes, blocks, or even quadrants. In each box, some cells already have numbers, called given, or clues. A player has to place a number in each of the empty squares of the box in such a way that the box contains the numbers 1 to 9 exactly once.
Take note that each puzzle has only one valid solution.

How many hours per week would you say you watch TV? Five? Ten? Fifteen? Do you watch TV even when there’s nothing on that you really care to watch? Exhausted from a day at work, at school, and/or with the kids, you’re trying to rewind, but boring TV programs aren’t really making you feel any happier. You’re just filling the time.
Reading can be a fun distraction and everyone needs to exercise, but you barely have the energy to workout your mental muscles, let alone your physical ones. You may turn to the Internet for a change of pace from the couch in front of the TV. Considering the many uses of the Internet include academic and news articles, this may be a more stimulating use of your down time.

The Flaws Of Sudoku Puzzles
Sudoku puzzles have always boasted that it is a brain stimulating game that requires no mathematical skills. In essence, the statement is correct because a player does not really have to add numbers, columns or rows to play Sudoku puzzles.
However, if we look at the game of Sudoku puzzles more closely, we can actually identify some basic reference to concepts that are of purely mathematical nature. For instance, Sudoku games usually have several blocks or squares that are already filled up with certain numbers. But what if we start from a totally blank grid, meaning no given numbers at all? The question then will be how many ways can the solution be achieved given the rules set forth by the puzzle game? If we go by the simple 4 by 4 Sudoku grid, there are a total of 576 ways of arranging the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4. in a square or block presentation with each number appearing only once in every row and column. However, Frazer Jarvis of the University of Sheffield was able to come up with 88 valid arrangements for the very same grid and subsequently posted his observations on the Sudoku Programmers Forum.
Clearly, logic is not the only factor at work in Sudoku puzzles. Mathematics is also a key player. Ditto with various rules. Sudoku said it only has one basic rule, but when you sit down and try to solve the puzzle, various rules as well as techniques will crop up that you can find useful as you try to uncover the enigma of the game. While Sudoku’s basic rule will help in getting the correct solution, repeated application of this one basic rule can make the game one big bore. Barry Cipra, a mathematician and writer from Northfield, Minnesota, said the Sudoku rules actually have several hierarchies. These rules get more complicated as the puzzle becomes more complex as in the case of 10 by 10, 12 by 12, and 14 by 14 grids. The basic rules, Cipra said, apply only to the standard 9 by 9 grid. Higher levels of the puzzle mean more complex rules. Nevertheless, the fun begins when a player is able to discover patterns that will trigger the application of the rules
The concept of Sudoku puzzles about no mathematics required is thus a bit flawed. What the game actually wants to say is that no arithmetic is really required, meaning no counting of 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on. Sudoku puzzles also say it only has one simple rule, which is, to fill in the grid with numbers ranging from 1 through 9 in such a way that every row and column will have one instance each of the said digits. Again, there is error here, because sticking too rigidly to this one simple rule will not help a player to easily solve the puzzle. Analytical methods, including the discovery of unwritten rules and tactics, are needed to see the game to its logical conclusion.

Sudoku – Tips For Easy Play
Here we learn the best ways to play easy Sudoku, so if you are enamored by what makes every Sunday paper such a treat for the game’s enthusiasts, stick around and learn the simple strategies – you just may surprise yourself with emerging as a Sudoku champion at the end of it!
Essentially involving numbers, the game of Sudoku has left very few untouched with the excitement or pairing the grids right in the fastest time possible and Americans are all for the addiction that is easy Sudoku.
This famous puzzle involves the use of a 9 x 9 grid divided into 9 equal squares with the objective of placing numbers 1 to 9 in these squares; but, the player has to remember that each number can only be used one in every row or column and only in formation of 3×3 squares.
The easy Sudoku puzzle typically has a given set of numbers that the player needs to deduce regarding placement, which is what decides the level of complexity of the puzzle game. The various ranges of game range from easy to moderately hard to very difficult, which a player can choose based on the strength of his skills of logic.
Begin with the easy Sudoku if you are just starting to develop an interest in the game and work your way up to the next level once you’ve mastered the first; you can also purchase a Sudoku puzzle book that falls in this range if you don’t fancy the one in the daily rag.
Usually, the puzzle appearing on Monday has the easy game and once you’ve learned the strategies and techniques for playing this one right, you will find it a breeze to get to the next level. Thinking in a logical manner and clearly is very important to ensure you don’t get the same numbers in each row or column. Each 3×3 box in the game should hold a new number that should act as a clue to your getting to use the next number in the same series.
Easy Sudoku puzzles afford a better chance to start the game series easily, so are recommended for beginners.
Look around for the various possibilities for numbers when you begin at 1; you can make an imaginary line on the boxes in the rows and columns of 1’s. Once you’ve done this and see only a single box is in the 9-square block, know your possibility is strong, so stick with it.
Next, to solve the easy Sudoku, you can work on the other numbers till you reach the possibility for 9; this is more do-able after you’ve successfully fitted in a few numbers at least.
If you feel the number is not fitting in and you are trapped, you may need to go back a few steps and try other numbers. This step involves the location of the ‘missing number,’ which can be reached at by labeling each block with everything which has a chance to be on the box.

How to play the Easy Sudoku?
For beginners, here are steps which can be helpful in solving the easy sudoku. Be sure to follow each step carefully and correctly to have a better chance of solving the puzzle.
1. Upon Solving, think carefully and cleverly. Once you already know that you cannot have two same numbers in each row, column or 3 x 3 boxes, it will be a good help or hint which you can use to get another number in the series. Remember the more difficult the Sudoku is, the lesser chance to start the game easily.
2. In solving an easy Sudoku, the first thing you must keep in mind is to look for the possibilities. Possibilities are the numbers that are possibly just around. Beginning at 1, make an imaginary line on the boxes in the 1’s row and column. When you see that only one box is left in the nine-square block, you will know that it is a possibility.
3. Carefully work on the numbers until the number 9. Since you already placed some of the numbers, this must help you to get other numbers which has more possibilities.
4. If you are trapped, go back but ensure to look at the other numbers. Once that happens, it is assured that you had missed something on the puzzle. That thing is normally where you need to be active again. If on the process you still cannot find the “missing number”, begin by labeling each block with everything which has a chance to be on the box.
5. It would be advisable that you begin a game in the newspaper. Most of the newspapers in the country already have Sudoku puzzle games. Most of the easy puzzle games are out during Monday and Tuesday. While the difficult puzzles are out on the following days.
The basic technique most players use in playing the Easy Sudoku is by going through every number and by trying to place as many numbers as the puzzle permits. You have to observe the numbers on the rows and columns to make sure that there are no same numbers present.
If you are working your way on the numbers 1 to 9, ensure to think about going through the same process again. Then, look at the squares to know the numbers you can use to prevent other numbers from filling in.
Try to train your mind well in looking at the numbers in all 3 x 3 boxes, columns or rows. In this way, you can easily spot the missing numbers which you need in each 3 x 3 boxes, columns or rows.
Lastly, if it is your first time to play the game, be patient. It may be an easy Sudoku but it is not as simple as what you may think. It still requires great logical skills and careful thinking in order to win and complete the puzzle.
